Collection Header

Underground sulfur pits within the sulfur recovery units result in immense cost for repairs and maintenance.  The potential for escaping gases and noxious fumes at grade level can impact the safety of personnel and create environmental issues.

The Collection Header is a substitute to underground sulfur storage pits.  It is designed to be above ground, house multiple Sultraps (to form a single process system), and can be combined with microbubble diffusers for liquid sulfur degassing.  Additional options include 100% jacketing, bolt-on heating panels or our patented heating system (Reflective Insulation).  For retrofit installations, the sulfur pit would be eliminated and the collection header with integrated SulTraps would be placed in service, minimizing piping changes.  For new installations, the collection header would eliminate the requirement for extensive and costly civil work.
